I met Stan Wright, mayor of Bayou la Batre, AL, while reporting a story for WBHM on the Hemley Road Church of Christ Food Panty.

He and I discussed all manner of things. The Deepwater Horizon oil spill and how it devastated his community. His dealings with BP. The place in town with the best shrimp.
The "crucial" part of our interview, however, came at the end when I asked him about his chewing tobacco. He had been spitting in a brass spittoon the whole time.
