Listen to Brian Explain the Woodchipper Campaign
Brian Matson has embraced the woodchipper.
Brian's the marketing director for the Fargo Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau, and he recently built a replica of the unforgettable (and gruesome) star of the film Fargo.
Naturally, there's a Facebook page for it. The local press recently ran with a story on it. And they're planning to pull it in city parades.
When asked if this kind of campaign seems a little dark, Brian says, "We're not sick, sadistic people. We're good fun-loving people. We recognize the fact that, yes, this is probably not the most light-hearted moment in the film, but it also is, some say, the 'ruby slippers' of the movie. It's the thing people remember."
Ruby slippers or shriveled witch feet?
