Listen to Glo Talk About Paula Deen's Shrimp Butter
Me: "Did you say your name was Flo?"
Glo: "No. Glo. G-L-O. It's short for Gloria, but don't call me Gloria. Call me Glo."
Me: "Got it."
I was lucky enough to get on Brahma Island right as Glo, the hunt camp cook, was setting the table with a wonderful lunch of venison cubed steak & gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, a three-bean salad, her grandmother's recipe "delicious rolls," and a piece of Paula Deen-inspired caramel apple cheesecake.
Glo's a huge fan of cooking shows.
As we (six hunters in camo and the guide Moby) rotated the lazy susan on the table, Glo told us about what she recently saw on Rachel Ray and a shrimp butter that Paula Deen had made.
Glo's business card features an illustration of a boar hog trailed by its own footprints.
"I got that, because I like to feed leftovers to the boar hogs that come right up to the lodge."
